I think team building is incredible when it’s done well. The challenge is most people think of team building as happy-hour or parties (extrovert events), when there are so many other options out there.
Introverts are amazing listeners, contributors, and generally develop deeper relationships — Susan Cain’s Quiet is a great book about the strength of introverts.
It would be great if workplaces included team building that catered to both personality types.
Interestingly, Reldan Nadler (Leading with Emotional Intelligence) also notes feelings of consistency and fairness as a strong foundation for culture. This is definitely an important step underpinning a team’s morale. Great article!
